Robert Getten Sr. started the Getten Credit Company with his son Bob Getten Jr. in August, 1961. Getten Credit was one of many independent finance companies during that time. Over the years most of the others had faded, while Getten Credit had weathered through the financial storms of the late 1970s and early 1980s, which saw a stifling prime interest rate of 20.5%. Today, the Getten Credit Company is one of a handful of independent finance companies remaining in Minnesota. Our company prides itself on its warm, family fun atmosphere and always gives each customer a personal touch. As we say, our customers are not numbers, they are people.
